Description

The Bernese Mountain Dog is a large dog breed. They originated in the Swiss Alps. Bernese are excellent all round farm dogs who are good at herding, pulling carts, and as watch dogs that protect the farm. They are intelligent and easy to train. A Bernese has distinctive markings on the coat and face and there is a gleam in those dark eyes.

They thrive on cold-weather outdoor activities and will happily join you for fun in the snow. Besides being wonderful family companion, Bernese are known for being particularly gentle and affectionate with children.
