Description

American black bears are found in Mexico, Canada and the US. They mostly eat grasses, herbs and fruit, and will sometimes eat fish. Its coat has lots of layers, which keeps the bear warm in the cold winter months. Their short claws make the bear expert tree climbers. Black bears can run up to 40 mph. These bears have a very good sense of smell. Often they stand on their hind legs, sniffing for scents! Don’t get too close! Our black bear friend is 7″ long and 4.25″ tall.
