What a bucolic scene! This figurine captures the elephant parents out with their precious little one. Everyone seems to be having a good time. The baby will  stay very close to its mother for the first couple of months. Young elephants, both male and female, stay with the herd for about 12 – 15 years. Then, the males go off and join an all male herd. These males stay close to protect the females and offspring.
