Description

The Irish Wolfhound is the tallest breed of dog. They are the gentle giants of the canine world. Their significant stature comes with an extra-large helping of affection, loyalty and independence. Compared to most other breeds, Irish Wolfhound puppies are big. Training should begin while they are a small manageable size. But their grooming needs aren’t big: nor do they shed much. 

The Irish Wolfhound is an ancient breed. Like their name says, they originated in Ireland and Irish Wolfhounds were wolf hunters. They were such successful hunters, that wolves were eradicated in Ireland.
