Description
Sea turtles are well-adapted to the ocean, though they require air to survive. They live in almost every ocean throughout the world. They migrate long distances to feed, often crossing entire oceans. These reptiles spend their entire lives at sea, with the exception of adult females, who come ashore to lay eggs. The eggs are laid in nests on tropical and subtropical beaches. Although this figurine depicts a large sea turtle swimming with a much smaller one, it is unlikely that they are related. Females, once they have laid their eggs, leave and the hatchlings are on their own. This is a wood-look carving. It stands 8.75″ tall and 5.75″ wide.
